How does IPL/RF Hair Removal
work?
Our IPL/RF hair removal system is a
faster, gentler way to remove
unwanted hair, with long-term results. It applies precisely controlled
pulses of energy (electrical and light, with cooling), reaching into
the hair follicles that lie beneath the skin. The energy heats the
hair, right down to the bottom of the root, destroying it without
damaging surrounding tissue or skin.
What does the IPL/RF hair
removal feel like?
Each pulse, which lasts less than one second, produces a small heat
flash and slight tingling feeling. In particularly sensitive areas,
such as the upper lip, it may feel like a quick, light pinch.
Is IPL/RF Hair Removal suitable
for everyone?
Our system enables your technician to
customise the treatment to
exactly match your hair and skin color and type. As long as there is
some color in your hair (even blonde hair has enough color), then our
IPL/RF will be effective.
What about side effects?
The energies used by our IPL/RF
(electrical and light) are both
commonly used in a range of medical and cosmetic procedures and have
proven to be safe. Most people experience no side effects at all,
though a few exhibit some short-term local reddening of the surrounding
skin.
How many Hair Removal treatments
will I need?
Similar to other technologies our IPL/RF
system destroys hair that are
in the active growth phase, so repeat treatments will be needed to
target hair that was not affected at the time of the previous
treatments. The number of treatments you will need depends on your hair
and skin color and type, and part of your face or body treated. Your
technician can advise you about how long it will take to reach your
hair removal goals. (Usually, four to six treatments are required over
a variable period of time.)
What results can I expect?
IPL/RF has been proven to be effective for long-term hair reduction
with each individual treatment. At the end of the treatment program you
can expect your skin to remain smooth.
IPL/RF Laser Hair Removal:

- Causes fewer, milder side effects
- Is more comfortable before and after treatment
- Removes more hair in fewer treatments
The volume of treatments required depends on the IPL intensity, Radio Frequency intensity, client sensitivity and health. This treatment is cumulative and if you require the machine settings to be turned down you will require more treatments to terminate the hair folicle
Women with endocrine disorders ie. menopause, poly cystic disease etc. need to set their expectation that the treatment is treating the symptoms rather than dealing with a normal hair growth pattern. Clients may be advised to consult their physical as to the usage of HRT, Spironolactone and other drugs to assist in the reduction of hair growth.
